Design(h)ers

Concept

Design(h)ers is a responsive digital platform created to expand on the mission of the Design(h)ers book by celebrating and amplifying the work of women in design. In an industry that remains largely male-led, many women designers still receive limited visibility and recognition. This project helps rebalance that narrative by spotlighting their voices, achievements, and contributions across design history and contemporary practice.

The platform highlights a Featured Designer of the Month to showcase impactful work and industry contributions, along with an interactive timeline tracing the influence of women in design across history. A curated directory serves as a living archive of contemporary and historical designers, while events, both virtual and in-person, help foster education and community engagement. Users can nominate designers, support the initiative through donations, and explore a shop featuring books, prints, and merchandise created by women in design. Together, these features create a space that not only celebrates women designers but also advocates for greater visibility, recognition, and structural change within the industry.
